Corporate Social Responsibility: Giving Back, Staying Safe, and Looking After Our People

Corporate social responsibility at MariApps Group is not an annual exercise. It is a consistent thread running through how we operate, how we treat our people, and how we engage with the communities around us. The first half of the year brought five distinct initiatives that reflect that commitment in action.

World Blood Donor Day

To mark World Blood Donor Day, MariApps Group organized blood drives across two of its offices. Colleagues in Singapore and Cyprus came forward with a shared purpose: to donate blood and support a cause with direct, life-saving consequences for patients in need.

The participation across both locations was a straightforward expression of something the company believes in that the people at MariApps are willing to contribute beyond their professional roles when it matters. A sincere thank you to everyone who took part.

Beach Clean-Up, Pondicherry

In recognition of World Ocean Day, our Pondicherry team dedicated a weekend morning to a beach clean-up initiative along the local coastline. Colleagues gave up their personal time to contribute to something larger than the working week: the health of the ocean that, in many ways, is central to the industry MariApps serves.

The initiative was a grounded reminder that sustainable maritime operations do not begin and end with software. They begin with the people in our organization understanding their relationship with the sea, recognizing their responsibility to it, and choosing to act on it.

Fire Drill at MariApps House

MariApps House recently conducted a full fire drill as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and prepared workplace for everyone. The exercise was designed to test the effectiveness of emergency response procedures, evaluate evacuation readiness, and ensure that every colleague knows exactly what to do when it matters most.

Workplace safety preparedness is not a box-ticking exercise. It requires regular practice, honest evaluation, and the full cooperation of the entire team, all of which were on display during the drill. Thank you to every colleague who participated and took the exercise seriously.

Free Medical Health Camp, Kochi

MariApps House in Kochi hosted a three-day Free Medical Health Camp as part of the company’s Employee Wellness Initiative. Conducted in collaboration with Lakshmi Hospital and the MediAssist Team, the camp offered employees access to eye check-ups, blood tests, and general medicine consultations, all within the workplace and at no cost.

Preventive healthcare is often the first thing people deprioritize when work is busy. This initiative was a deliberate effort to remove that barrier and make it easier for colleagues to take their health seriously. A warm thank you to the medical teams, the organizers, and everyone who attended and made the three days a success.
