  • University degree: preferably in English, Computer Science, Technical Writing, or Instructional Design, with 5+ years of technical writing experience.
  • Exceptional English and communication skills. Experience writing using a corporate style guide and following documentation processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of content/help authoring tools (XML), such as Arbortext Epic Editor, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, Adobe Robohelp, and various help formats.
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Familiar with MSTP style guide.
  • Excellent knowledge of Configuration Management tools, such as JIRA.
  • Firm understanding of SDLC and DDLC.
  • Experience writing in a structured authoring environment and creating single-source and minimalist content. Familiarity with DITA/DocBook and topic-based writing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of documentation localization processes as well as software usability principles.
  • Create diagrams for technical support content using tools such as Microsoft Visio.
  • Knowledge of video production techniques and experience with tools such as Camtasia, BB FlashBack, etc.

Objectives of this Role:

  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards.
  • Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content.
  • Write user-friendly content that meets the requirement of the target audience, turning insights into language that sets our users up for success.
  • Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement.
  • Research, outline, write and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements.
  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write user manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
  • Work with the development and support team to identify all documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage.
  • Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that uphold organizational and legal standards, and allow for easy data migration.
  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation.
